Frozen Lime Drink
Summertime! And what could be better than an Icy Smooth Refreshing Booze Beverage. Nothing! Problem is blenders have NEVER EVER been able to make a good “blender” drink. While they will usually do the trick, they seldom deliver a Slurpee like texture. Enter our cure-all kitchen device, the Ice Cream Machine! Follow the recipe and you’ll have a killer drink for you and your gal to enjoy on a Hot Summers Day/Night.

Frozen Lime All The Time!

1 Cup Fresh squeezed Lime Juice (you will need like 8 limes to get this)
1 Cup Sugar
2 Cups Water
1 Tbsp Lime Zest
1 Pinch of Salt
1 Cup Smirnoff “Lime” Vodka
1 Ice Cream Machine

  1. Put Water and sugar in a saucepan, and bring to a boil. Always stirring.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in salt & Lime juice
  3. Let Cool
  4. Add in Vodka and Zests
  5. Let that sit for another couple hours in the fridge.
  6. Put it in the Ice Cream Maker
  7. Take it out, get hyp-ah.

Signatures, abandon all hope?

Saturday, October 14th, 2006

When asked for my signature, the resultant deranged mark that I scrawl is enough to garner laughs from third graders. It is a series of quick condensed zigzags followed by an ever changing number of loops and dots. It is inconsistent, overly long, and hideous to look at. It is pretty much the same way I have signed my name since I was 9. Is it too late to change my signature?

iTunes7 forces me to sync properly.

Wednesday, October 4th, 2006

So I have had my iPod for awhile, and have just been manually managing songs when it gets full. LIKE A CHUMP! Turns out all you need to do is uncheck the checkboxes that appear next to the song and then they will be taken off your iPod. WOW! Of course I didn’t even realize this till iTunes 7 since there is no apparent way to get into your iPod’s “library” and start removing things, instead you just get a pretty iPod management screen with a bunch of tabs, where you can find my new favourite checkbox “Only synch checked items”. Call Robert Stack, another mystery solved.

What is the deal here?

Thursday, September 14th, 2006

Business-Boy is what it is. It will hopefully be a semi-regularly released magazine type deal. And just like every other magazine it will have its particular niche audience, and that is about it. While the site may have some other bells and whistles the primary focus will be on the magazine.

What nothing new and earth shattering?

Nope, not really. It is mostly just the same ol’ same ol’ from a different view.

While I could just keep posting to this blog, I suppose I just wanted something more tangible, less personal, and something where some more thought and time goes into the editing process. As well, the magazine format seems more conducive to collaboration…there are many a business-boy in the world today.

In the meantime though the blog will have to suffice. So might as well use it:

Cheats:

- If you have no brown sugar and you want to make cookies, or anything else that may require brown sugar, mix molasses and white sugar.

- If you’re +1000$ in your bank account put all/most of your money into President’s Choice Interest Plus account. 4% interest AND an annual bonus is a pretty good deal. I’m sure ING Direct is cooking up a huge counter offensive. Don’t get too pumped though, banks still make all the money.

- Whenever you are in a place that is not your home town and has non-Hallmark type greeting cards, STOCK UP! They will no doubt come in handy at some point and always go over better than the run of the mill basura, que Hallmark hecho.

Difficulty with Google Project Hosting

Tuesday, September 5th, 2006

I’m hoping to host our super secret software project on Google Projects, so everyone can have access and a hand in developing it. (secret’s out!) But alas it seems Google Project is on the fritz at the moment.

So since that is a bust here is this:
1) If ever the need to rent formal attire arises, and shoes are part of the deal. A prudent move would be to purchase a cheap pair of Dr.Scholl’s (or some other brand) footbeds, or something similar. Prometheus pays off!

2) If you are coming from a Java background and want to program in Ruby, and you want to do a null check on an object instead of doing the old tyme comparator:

object == null
You simply call the nil on the object like so:
object.nil?
And if it happens that it is null (or nil) true is returned!
